Backpacking at Reynolds Creek
We pulled the kids out of school early
for our very first backpacking trip in April
Hiking into the canyon.
We came upon a herd of cows and scared the crap out of them- literally.
We had to dodge fresh cow crap on the trail for quite a while.
Deanne was most disgusted.
We all had Mountain House freeze-dried dinners.
They aren't too bad.
Deanne, however, was not going to eat rehydrated mac-n-cheese.
I don't know if it was the taste itself or the dirt specks that she was so opposed to.
Standing around the campfire eating candy bars...no one wanted to carry in smores stuff.
Erika and Deanne
Ready to head out the next morning
Some photos on the way out
Megan and Shane...
Looks a little painful, doesn't it?
Ghost rock.
Wish we could've brought it home, but no one wanted to carry it out.
Cassie waiting for everyone to catch up
The trail we took back was out in the flats and by no means as pretty as the trail we took in.
But there were plenty of lizards to catch.
