Skein and Raft Lakes

The drive took us up towards the town of Cascade. 

It was a windy road up the side of a mountain with a great view of Lake Cascade.

                                                 This is us at the trailhead.

Most of the trail was uphill....

...which was a tiring climb.  (that is me)

That is me and Deanne resting (again) on the way up.

This old cabin is where the turn off for the 2 lakes is.

This is the First lake,  Skein Lake.

We continued on to Raft Lake and set up camp.

Garrett and Shane headed back to go fishing in Skein Lake. 

The rest of us stayed and explored around Raft Lake.

Erika fell off one of the logs. Not a big surprise.

She hiked out the next morning in wet shoes.

We decided to drop our packs and hike around Skein Lake.

We followed the path for quite a while and when

the trail ended, we continued on scrambling over

dead trees for a while before turning back around.

(:I like going down the trail a whole lot more than going up:)
