SOUTHERN UTAH

ZIONS

Hiking the Zion Canyon overlook trail.

At the top of the overlook

Megan lying on the edge of the cliff to
get a better close up picture.
Go figure.

Emerald Pools trail.

The Riverwalk

Along the riverwalk was a place where dozens
of rock monuments had been erected.
They were almost as tall as Deanne.
Garrett and Cassie each built one of their own.

We hiked along the Pine Creek trail til we reached this little waterfall.
We did not bring our swimsuits,
but that didn't stop any of them from getting wet.

Besides, Deanne thought it was more fun to get her clothes wet.

We found a rock ledge to jump off of into a deep part of the creek.
Justin and Garrett both jumped off, but no one else wanted to jump in in their clothes.
That is Justin below.

Shelf Canyon was a little harder to get to.
We might have turned around if it hadn't been
for a couple of hikers we passed saying it was worth the hike.
That's Cassie on the rock.

BRYCE CANYON

We hiked the Navajo loop that went down into the canyon.
The hike going down into the canyon was a breeze,
but we were not looking forward to the hike back up.

The trail is starting to head uphill and things are suddenly getting quieter.

Close to the top, everyone stops to rest in the shade.

The Natural Arch in Bryce Canyon.
Erika, Deanne and Cassie.

WILLIS CREEK CANYON

We went on a great hike wearing our water shoes where Willis Creek flowed through a canyon.
The stream was a rusty color and was the perfect temperature.
A lot of the time, we all just splashed along in the stream.
This is at the beginning of the canyon.

Deanne, just like a duckling, follows Cassie in the stream.
Most of the time, the water was ankle height, but
sometimes, we were suprised to find ourselves in
knee- deep water.

Parts of the canyon were open.

And parts were closed in

Posing for a picture along the way.

Erika was the only one to fall down in the creek.

We found a couple of mud power rangers
and decided to keep them.

SAND HOLLOW

The lake was hovering around a cozy 72 degrees
so we had no problem jumpin right in.
Then we settled into burying our first victim- Justin.

Whoops, we forgot he was still alive!

swimming in a rocky cove

Jumpin off a rock (yes that is megan!!)

then i (Garrett) jumped off a cliff

CALVIN T'S

We stopped to eat dinner at Calvin T's BBQ.
Cassie, Justin and Erika cuddling up with Calvin.

And Cassie, Justin and Deanne
driving the wagon outside of Calvin T's

RANCH

There were several activities for the kids
at the ranch resort we stayed at.
The girls all did the zipline.

Go Megan!

The boys rode ATVs.

And they all loved the pool.
